rsday said that his comments regarding women par
liamentarians were blown out of proportion.
In a
series of tweets, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari expressed her anger on Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah’s statement regarding women par
liamentarians.
Aseefa said that insensitive remarks
against women in politics have reoccurred in par
liament. “Such remarks should not be tolerated. Hope Khursheed Shah respectfully a
pologises,” she stated.
“Par
liament is a model of our society and if the par
liament continues to make derogatory remarks
against women. It reflects on us,” Aseefa stated.
While addressing the lower house of the par
liament, Shah advised the NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to allow women to speak during assembly sessions or else “they will fall ill”.
