LAHORE: The provincial exchequer was further burdened as the pay scales for chie
f secretary of Punjab and Punjab Police inspector general (IGP) witnessed a record increase.
An increase of Rs 400,000 has been made in the salary of the Punjab chie
f secretary, while the salary of the IGP has registered an increase of Rs 375,000.
According to a notification issued on Friday, the incre
ase in pay came in effect on January 26, 2017. The increase has been carried out under ‘superior executive a
llowance’ head.
After the new a
llowance, salaries for the two bureaucratic positions will exceed half
a million rupees.
