The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday allowed to auction a house owned by ex-finance minister Ishaq Dar an
d dismissed a petition against it.
A two judge bench comprising Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz announced the decision in a petition filed by Ishaq Dar’s wife Tabasum Dar.
The court rejected the claim of petitioner against the house located at Gulberg-III Lahore and upheld the decision of accountability court.
The petitioner had stated in her plea that her husband had gifted her this house in 1989 and after this Ishaq Dar was no more owner of th
is. She prayed the court to set aside the decision of trial court to auction the aforesaid property.
It may be mentioned here that the trial court had or
dered to auction the pro
perty owned by Ishaq Dar after he fled the country and was declared abscond
er in a graft reference.
NBP President, Chairman restored: A division bench of the IHC reinstated President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Arif Usmani and Chairman Zubair Sumro on their posts while accepting the intra court appeal (ICA). A two judge bench comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq announced the verdict which was previously reserved by the court after listening arguments from parties.
It may be mentioned here that a single member bench had declared the appointments of Arif Usmani and Zubair Sumro as unlawful and or
dered to remove them from the posts. However, an intra court appeal had been moved to the IHC against the decision of the single member bench.
