SHEIKHUPURA: The Counter-Terrorism Department personnel claimed to have foiled a major
terror bid planned for Lahore and gunned down eight alleged proscribed J
amaat-ur-Ahrar
terrorists during an operation in Sheikhupura.
On a tip-off, the CTD personnel raided a hideout in Sheikhupura area on Thursday, where the
terrorists started firin
g at the police party, leaving two police personnel injured.
The CTD retaliated and shot dead eight
terrorists of proscribed J
amaat-ur-Ahrar. Moreover, four
terrorists fled the scene.
According to CTD, the
terrorists wanted
to carry out a
terrorist act in Lahore. The personnel also recovered three kilogrammes of explosive, three Kalashnikovs and fiv
e pistols during the search operation.
The CTD have also conducted a search operation for the arrest of remaining
terrorists.
